I believe exceptional historical fiction emerges from collaboration—between authors, artists, publicists, and publishers—sweeping readers to experience richly detailed worlds. There, they meet characters — some they will care deeply about, and some they will passionately hate.

If you’re a fellow writer, literary publicist, book cover designer with period aesthetic expertise, agent, or publisher—I’d love to connect with you.

Let’s Build a Devoted Readership Together

I’m convinced that meaningful content creates a lasting, engaged readership. Rather than fleeting promotional blasts, I want to spotlight your work in ways that captivate readers through the power of your storytelling.

Showcase Your Work Through Immersive Content

One of the most powerful ways I’ve found to connect with readers is through compelling guest content. There are many review sites, and some write reviews for free. Since my intention is to build a destination site for historical fiction lovers, I invite you to introduce readers to your historical fiction by sharing something that allows your world to envelop them, and your characters to speak with them:

  • Character sketches that bring your protagonists and antagonists to life (see my example: villain sketch of Reynard)
  • Vivid, engrossing scenes or excerpts from your book—opening chapters work particularly well.
  • Deleted chapters, scenes or similarly cut content that reveals the depth and richness of your storytelling and encourages further exploration
  • Historical research posts exploring the backdrop of your story or the discoveries that drove your narrative (for example, my research on the ship San Salvador as inspiration for Francis Drake’s vessel in Sic Parvis Magna)

Please consider submitting a guest post.

What Your Guest Post Includes:

  • Your author bio in your byline
  • Strategic links to your website, social media, and book pages
  • Unless, you tell me otherwise, I may cross-post your content to Facebook, Medium, X, and other platforms at my discretion
  • Internal cross-linking to better expose your work to SEO and to genre-loving readers
  • Feature in my Newsletter for standout articles
  • If the content resonates, I may request a copy of your book for a review

However, I want to invite readers to discover your books through curiosity and engagement—not just promotion.

My Commitment to Quality

My primary mission is creating a premier destination where historical fiction readers discover exceptional authors and remarkable books. I evaluate every submission through this lens.

Important: Submissions focused solely on promotion typically don’t align with my mission. I’m not building a book promotion site—I’m cultivating a readership of interested historical fiction fans. I accept content that, in my sole opinion, offers genuine value to the readers of my site. This is also why dated submissions do not work on this site (for instance, submitting a review request to hit a promotion date). You should view your submission as ever-green content.

This philosophy also guides my approach to unsolicited review requests. Please note that because of volume, I typically turn down unsolicited book review requests. If you are interested in a review, please consider sites that cater to that as a niche. a few examples, which I will add sites to as I discover them:

  • Amy’s Book reviews (free and paid, currently in a request freeze)
  • Reedsy Reviews (low cost)

Let’s make history together.
